Snohomish Lacrosse Girls 2008 Varsity: A Perfect Season and State Champions

The SnoLax Girls Varsity team capped a perfect 21-0 season with a decisive win over Bellevue to win the Washington State Lacrosse Varsity B Championship. SnoLax girls were also well represented on the 2008 All State team including: Daniele Bergquist (goalie), Sayre CreightonHannah Price, Alyssa Retallick, and Mikaela Trott.

It is a rare thing to have a perfect season and it was a treat to watch, from the domination of the Best of the West Tournament (6-0), through the regular season (13-0), and throughout the championship playoffs (2-0). It was a treat to watch this storybook year. SnoLax is proud of these girls and coach Craig Hess for the class they showed all year long. You embody what this club is striving for. Congratulations ladies!

 

SnoLax Wins Washington State High School Lacrosse Championship Saturday May 17, 2008 

The Varsity Girls defeated Bellevue 13-3 on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in the State Championship game. SnoLax Varsity and JV Girls Undefeated

The Snohomish High School Varsity Girls and Junior Varisty Girls are undefeated in 2008!

 

The Varsity Girls have had a perfect season: perfect in the pre-season tournament Best of the West in Las Vegas and perfect in the regular season at 13-0.

 

The Junior Varsity took their league by storm and outscoring opponents by 125 points and they did it with class and outstanding sportsmanship. This bodes well for an outstanding 2009 season!

 

Come cheer the Varsity on as they advance to the State Championship for a clean sweep:

  • May 14 at Harvey Field for second round playoff
  • May 17 at Seattle Center for the championship

SnoLax 2008 VegasSnohomish Girls Varsity Lacrosse has become more than a talented club here locally, they travel as well.  As with most strong programs here in the Northwest, they play other schools in tournaments.  Last weekend, they went down to the Best of the West Tournament held in Las Vegas, Nevada and went undefeated, playing 6 games before winning the tournament championship.

We are proud of the excellent job coach Craig and Bob and the team did and look forward to the 2008 season here in Washington.

From Everett Herald Published: Tuesday, May 24, 2005 Lacrosse team wins state crown Herald staff The Snohomish High School girls lacrosse team didn't take long to mold itself into a champion. Just two years removed from a winless season, Snohomish won the Varsity B Division state title on Saturday with an 11-9 victory over top-seeded Lake Sammamish at Mercer Island Stadium. Snohomish pulled away from an 8-8 tie late in the game with goals by Keena Hopkins, Haley Slind and Brielle Hargrave. Hopkins finished the contest with six goals and two assists. Slind added two goals and two assists. Hargrave, Shayla Whipple and Whitney Blanchet also scored for the winners. Goalie Danielle Bergquist made 27 saves. "This is a team with only six returning varsity players from last year," Snohomish coach Sean Collins said in an e-mail. "In two years this team has gone from winning no games to the state champs. They're incredible kids." Six Snohomish players were named first-team all-league. The group included Whipple, Hopkins, Slind, Sayre Creighton, Jennifer Courtney and Sarah Courtney
